I am a software engineer, in the industry since 1988. I first became a ham waaaay back in junior high school, in North Babylon, NY (on Long Island). At that time, my father was a high-school math/science teacher with Amityville High School (right down the street from the so-called "Amityville Horror"). Anyway, I was WB2NFI, and when I moved to Scottsdale, AZ, I let it expire.
My server's CPU melted down after all these years, so I had to replace the machine. Not all my backups were complete, and this site was one of the casualties. For those who had registered on the site, my apologies.
Anyway, I have a new, spiffy Q6600 quad-core machine with 4GB of RAM. Nice and fast!
Well. It's been what, nearly 7 years since I first put up this web page, mostly with content about the Hi Meadow Fire. Along the way, I added a bunch of other content, and then the site kinda languished.
Well, in seven years a lot has changed. One, Content Management Systems have become much more usable. I chose Drupal to host my site now. Oh, and I have a domain now -- formerly qsl.net/af0d is now af0d.com!
